Korbit Conducts Black Box Penetration Test... No Hacking Damage for One Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] Domestic cryptocurrency exchange Korbit has been found to have a security system at the level of the financial sector following a simulated hacking test.
On the 10th, Korbit announced that it conducted a black box penetration test with cybersecurity firm Steelyan for one month from the 2nd of last month to the 1st of this month. A black box penetration test refers to conducting a simulated hacking without prior knowledge of the hacking methods.
The test targeted Korbit's web browser, mobile application, and application programming interface (API). Over the course of a month of attacks and vulnerability analysis, no hacking damage related to cryptocurrency was found.
Steelyan evaluated that Korbit has a security system at the financial sector level in terms of customer information tampering, transaction tampering, and withdrawal theft. Previously, Steelyan conducted penetration tests on multiple financial companies including KB Kookmin Bank and NH Nonghyup Bank.
