According to the legal community on the 8th, Prosecutor Han made this statement through a position paper titled 'Regarding Some Political Circles' Claims on the Investigation of Governor Lee Jae-myung' sent to the press corps that day.
He emphasized, "At that time, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office was conducting major investigations involving former presidents and others, so there was no investigation related to Governor Lee Jae-myung concerning the said gangsters."
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office began verifying the facts on the same day regarding allegations of a targeted investigation involving pressuring inmates to report corruption by former Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung. The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office stated, "Regarding the suspicions of coercion or pressure during the investigation process, the Human Rights Protection Office will review the facts and whether any human rights violations occurred."
