View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the 8th, the Blue House held a Standing Committee meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) chaired by Suh Hoon, Director of the National Security Office, in the afternoon.
The attendees agreed to further strengthen communication and cooperation with related countries to resume inter-Korean dialogue concerning the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
They also evaluated the National Unification Civic Agreement draft as containing peaceful resolution of inter-Korean confrontation and conflicts, as well as a desirable future vision for the Korean Peninsula, and agreed to continue such social dialogue.

Furthermore, they reviewed the recent visit of the Minister of National Defense to Egypt and Oman and the achievements in defense cooperation, agreed to expand cooperation for combating piracy and supporting the safe navigation of international vessels, and decided to continue measures to ensure the safety and protection of overseas Koreans residing in dangerous regions abroad.
