[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Hwang Seong-woo, President of Samsung SDS, said on the 8th, "Digital Transformation (DT) can be summarized as a methodology that significantly enhances the value of all elements of a company by utilizing digital technology."

On the same day, Samsung SDS held ‘REAL 2021’ under the theme of ‘Cloud-based Service-oriented DT.’ The online event had 8,000 pre-registrations.

Samsung SDS also introduced the ‘DT Cube,’ which three-dimensionally represents various methodologies to realize DT in a cloud environment, and announced plans to develop it into a platform level in the future.

President Hwang emphasized, "Simply stacking software on a flat surface cannot demonstrate the true effect of DT," adding, "Samsung SDS will continue to strive to lead the most suitable DT for your company in a cloud environment."

Kang Seok-rip, Vice President and Head of IT Innovation Division at Samsung SDS, who delivered the keynote speech, presented four reasons why companies fail in DT and mentioned ‘cloud-based service-oriented DT’ as a strategy to overcome them.

A digital research and development (R&D) case of Samsung Electronics Bespoke was also introduced. Customer feedback on virtual products created with 3D technology during the product planning stage was reflected in the design to improve production efficiency.

Samsung SDS shared cases such as DB Insurance, which introduced an AI-based smart contact center. DB Insurance provides innovative customer experiences including not only simple consultations but also real-time robot teller consultations, consultation support, and monitoring.

On the 9th, a lecture titled ‘Business Innovation Led by Cloud’ will be delivered by Gu Hyung-jun, Vice President and Head of Cloud Business Division at Samsung SDS.
