Government Supports Popular Music Musicians and Small-Scale Performance Venues
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Arirang TV, the Korea Creative Content Agency, and the Korea Music Label Industry Association announced on the 8th that they will support popular music musicians and small-scale performance venues struggling due to the spread of COVID-19. From mid-next month until January of next year, a support project for small-scale and online performances will be conducted. A total of 350 popular music musician teams will participate in the performances. Arirang TV will pay performance fees and broadcast all performances online. Some performances will be produced as Arirang TV programs and aired. The support targets also include small-scale venues with seating capacities of 300 or fewer currently hosting popular music performances. Selected venues through a public contest will receive benefits such as rental fee payments. For more details, please refer to the official Arirang TV website.
