Apple Likely to Unveil 'iPhone 13' on the 14th... Sends Out Special Event Invitations
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Apple will hold an online 'Special Event' next week to unveil new products.
Apple announced on the 7th that it will hold a special event at its headquarters in Cupertino, California, USA, on the 14th (local time).
In the invitation sent to the media, Apple stated that the Special Event will be held at Apple Park headquarters starting at 10 a.m. on the 14th and will be broadcast live. The invitation carried the short title "California streaming."
Industry insiders expect Apple to unveil the next-generation 'iPhone 13' at this event, following the usual practice of announcing new iPhones in September. The iPhone 13 series is expected to consist of four models: the base model iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max, similar to the previous generation.
According to previously released information, the battery capacities for this series are ▲iPhone 13 Mini 2406mAh ▲iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro 3095mAh ▲iPhone 13 Pro Max 4325mAh. With larger batteries, the weight may increase slightly.
The iPhone 13 is expected to feature minor functional improvements and changes compared to its predecessor. However, foreign media report that the notch?a black rectangular area at the top center of the display that partially obscured the screen?will be smaller or possibly removed.
It is also speculated that the iPhone will be the first to include satellite communication functionality. Equipped with low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communication, this feature will allow users to send emergency text messages or make calls via satellite when cellular service is unavailable.
Camera performance is expected to be enhanced with features such as an ultra-wide lens with autofocus. Additionally, professional features like ProRes video recording and 'Cinematic Video,' which focuses on the subject while blurring the background, are anticipated.
The official release date for the iPhone 13 series is expected to be the 24th. Sales will begin first in primary launch countries such as the United States, with a phased rollout to other regions. Since South Korea is not among the first launch countries, its release schedule has not yet been announced.
In addition to the iPhone 13, Apple is predicted to introduce the new smartwatch 'Apple Watch 7' and wireless earbuds 'AirPods 3' at the event. The Apple Watch series has seen new models released annually, while the last AirPods model was released in 2019.
The Apple Watch 7 screen is expected to be larger than the current 40mm and 44mm versions, measuring 41mm and 45mm. These measurements are based on the case height; the diagonal screen sizes will be 1.78 inches and 1.9 inches, respectively. The new 45mm model is expected to have a resolution of 396 x 484, significantly improved from the previous model's 368 x 448.
