Gokseong-gun Opens Basic Farming Skills Training for New Farmers
Operating 10 Sessions from September 7 for Successful Agricultural Settlement
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Geun-gi) announced on the 7th that it has opened a basic farming skills training course for new farmers and returnees to ensure their stable settlement in farming at the Agricultural Technology Center.
This training will be held a total of 10 times over 40 hours from September 7 to November 16. Participants can learn about understanding returnees to farming and rural areas, theory and practice of major agricultural machinery, and farming techniques for various crops such as food crops, seasoning vegetables, and fruit trees.
Additionally, the program is well-organized to provide various agricultural information and offer counseling for the settlement process of returnees to farming and rural areas. Gokseong-gun expects that new farmers will adapt early to rural life through this training.
To prevent COVID-19, the training will minimize the use of external instructors and primarily utilize in-house instructors at the Agricultural Technology Center. Depending on the situation, online education will also be conducted concurrently.
Meanwhile, the Gokseong-gun Agricultural Technology Center offers various educational programs and support measures beyond basic farming skills training. Representative programs include on-site practical training where leading farmers pass on farming know-how through hands-on experience in the field, expert consulting for discovering return-to-farming startup ideas and items, and startup support funds.
