‘Wando Specialty Products Promotion’ Held Twice in Bangkok, Thailand

[Wando＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 7th that it will hold the ‘Wando Specialty Products Promotion Exhibition’ twice in September and October in Thailand.

The promotion exhibition will be held at the Jidubang Market in Bangkok from the 9th to the 22nd of this month and from the 7th to the 20th of next month.

The promotion exhibition is hosted by Jeollanam-do and Wando-gun for the purpose of Jeollanam-do’s ‘Jeollanam-do Overseas Permanent Sales Store City and County Linked Promotion Event Support Project,’ and is organized by the Jeollanam-do Small and Medium Business Promotion Agency.

Six companies from Wando-gun, including Wandoda, Daehan Mulsan, Nuri Jeonbok, Haecheongjeong, Omirok Co., Ltd., and Sammi Young Cooperative Corporation, are participating in the promotion exhibition.

Although agricultural and marine processed products have been individually exported to Southeast Asia so far, this time they are gathered together for promotion and sales, which is significant.

The participating companies were selected by Thai local buyers through an online export consultation held in April and ongoing one-on-one video export consultations.

For the promotion exhibition, on the 18th of last month, a shipping ceremony was held at the Wando-eup Agricultural and Industrial Complex to send about 70 million KRW worth of Wando agricultural and marine processed products such as frozen abalone, abalone chowder (soup), kelp noodles, citron syrup, gopchang gim, and seaweed to Thailand.

Wandoda CEO Woo Hyun-gyu, who acted as a bridge between Thai buyers and Wando-gun companies, said, “Six export companies in Wando have united with the county to promote Wando’s excellent agricultural and marine processed products in Southeast Asia,” adding, “If we continue to coexist with the companies, we expect even greater effects in pioneering overseas markets.”
