Creation of Namhae Sea Garden in Gyeongnam ... Selected in Korea Forest Service Contest
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Sharon] Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 7th that it will create the 'Namhae Sea Garden' equipped with photo zones and various convenience facilities.
The Namhae Sea Garden project was selected in a Korea Forest Service contest to create outdoor gardens within living areas to spread garden culture, and it will be promoted with 500 million KRW including national funds.
The project site is a vacant lot near the sea next to the coastal road in 725-2 Seokpyeong-ri, Idong-myeon.
Since March, detailed design services and expert consultations from the Korea National Arboretum have been conducted, and construction is planned to start by September and be completed within the year.
About 19,000 trees including large trees, shrubs, and perennial herbaceous plants will be planted in the Namhae Sea Garden, along with convenience facilities such as photo zones, parking lots, walking trails, outdoor tables, pergolas, and benches.

A Namhae-gun official said, "Once the outdoor garden is established along the coastal road, it is expected to become another tourist attraction offering views of the beautiful Namhae Sea."
