Review of 28 Agenda Items Including the 3rd Supplementary Budget and Ordinance Proposals

[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] The Jeonnam Muan County Council (Chairman Kim Dae-hyun) announced on the 6th that it has opened the 273rd extraordinary session and entered a five-day legislative schedule.

During this extraordinary session, a total of 28 agenda items will be reviewed, including the 3rd supplementary budget for 2021, 15 ordinances, 7 consent items, and 6 other general matters.

On the day, the county council held the 1st plenary session, resolved the agenda on deciding the session period and the formation of the Budget and Accounts Special Committee (Chairman Councilor Kim Won-jung), and then listened to the proposal explanation on the 3rd supplementary budget.

The scale of this supplementary budget, which mainly focuses on the payment of the ‘COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund,’ is 736 billion won, an increase of 72.1 billion won (10.86%) from the original budget of 663.9 billion won.

The main legislative schedule of this session includes reviewing ordinances and other agenda items by standing committees and preliminary examination of the supplementary budget on the 7th and 8th, and on the 9th, the Budget and Accounts Special Committee will hold a comprehensive review of the budget bills referred from the standing committees.

On the last day of the session, the 10th, the 2nd plenary session will be held to make the final decisions on the agenda items reviewed and reported by the standing and special committees, concluding this extraordinary session.

Meanwhile, at the end of the plenary session, the county council adopted a resolution urging the prompt passage of the ‘Partial Amendment to the Saemaul Undong Organization Promotion Act’ and called on the National Assembly to establish grounds for direct payment of allowances to heads of Saemaul Undong organizations.
