Hamyang-gun Decides to Extend Social Distancing Level 3 for 4 More Weeks
Up to 8-person private gatherings allowed excluding up to 4 fully vaccinated individuals
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 6th that it will extend the level 3 social distancing for 4 weeks from the 6th to October 3rd.
This decision to extend level 3 social distancing for 4 more weeks follows the government’s policy due to the continued spread of infections despite high-intensity social distancing, and the increase in personal contact during the Chuseok holiday.
Under the extended level 3 social distancing, private gatherings of 5 or more people are prohibited; however, gatherings of up to 8 people are allowed if up to 4 people have passed 14 days after their final vaccination dose. For weddings, the previous limit of 49 people is changed to allow up to 99 people for weddings without meals (the current limit of 49 remains if meals are served).

Seo Chun-soo, the mayor of Hamyang-gun, said, “Thanks to the cooperation of the residents, confirmed cases have significantly decreased, but if we become careless even slightly, cases can surge rapidly. To completely break the chain of infection, please be sure to get tested if you have suspicious symptoms, and recognize that forming herd immunity through vaccination is the shortcut to regaining normal life. We ask for your active cooperation in vaccination.”
