Gangjin-gun Increases 4th Supplementary Budget by 42.5 Billion Won
[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Jeonnam Gangjin-gun (Governor Lee Seung-ok) submitted the 4th supplementary budget plan, increased by 42.5 billion KRW, to the county council on the 1st to recover damages caused by the heavy rain in July and to overcome COVID-19.
According to the county on the 6th, this supplementary budget was funded by local allocation tax and national subsidies granted through the government's 2nd supplementary budget, reflecting the budget for revitalizing the local economy in response to COVID-19, permanent restoration of flood damage, and major pending projects.
By account, the general account was organized at 545 billion KRW, an increase of 42.1 billion KRW (8.37%) compared to the 3rd supplementary budget of 502.9 billion KRW, and the special account was organized at 19.7 billion KRW, an increase of 0.4 billion KRW (1.99%) compared to 19.3 billion KRW.
By function, the general public administration sector increased by 9.2 billion KRW, the public order and safety sector by 5.2 billion KRW, and the culture and tourism sector by 2.2 billion KRW.
The detailed supplementary budget includes 8 billion KRW for restoration projects in flood-damaged areas, 2.8 billion KRW for disaster relief funds for flood damage, 1.6 billion KRW for urban planning road construction projects (including 1.3 billion KRW in special grants), 1 billion KRW for the Daegu Jeodu District tourism convenience facility construction project, and 850 million KRW for a temporary management support voucher project for small-scale farms.
Governor Lee Seung-ok said, “Although the financial conditions are difficult, we have invested the maximum available resources to support damage recovery and overcome COVID-19,” and added, “We will actively communicate with the county council and, once the budget is finalized, promptly proceed with restoration and support so that the daily lives of the residents affected by the flood damage can recover as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile, the 4th supplementary budget plan will be submitted for review and resolution at the 274th Gangjin County Council extraordinary session held from the 9th to the 16th.
