The Pyeongtaek Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 5th that they have urgently arrested and are investigating A (30) on charges including assault leading to death.
A is suspected of fatally assaulting B (3) by punching and hitting his face with a blunt object at a bar lodging in Anjeong-ri, Paengseop-eup, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi Province, where she worked, around 7:30 a.m. that day.
According to the police, B was the son of a U.S. military personnel whom A knew, and A was temporarily taking care of him at the request of an acquaintance. At the time of the incident, B's older brother was also under her care but did not suffer any harm.
At around 8 a.m. the same day, the bar owner found B collapsed and reported it to the police. Subsequently, the police tracked A, who had been with B and his brother overnight, as a suspect.
It was confirmed that A wandered around the Anjeong-ri area of the city naked. The reason why A was in a nude state has not been revealed.
During the investigation, A confessed to assaulting B. However, she has been silent about the motive, giving incoherent and difficult-to-understand statements.
