[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] As of 6 PM on the 5th, the number of new COVID-19 cases nationwide was recorded at 1,135.
This is 151 fewer than the 1,286 cases recorded at the same time the previous day. It is 2 more than the 1,133 cases recorded at 6 PM last Sunday.
Looking at the regions where cases were reported today, the metropolitan area accounted for 781 cases (68.8%), and non-metropolitan areas accounted for 354 cases (31.2%).
By city and province, Seoul had 360 cases, Gyeonggi 343 cases, Incheon 78 cases, Gyeongnam 52 cases, Busan 50 cases, Chungnam 49 cases, Daegu 39 cases, Gyeongbuk 38 cases, Gwangju 27 cases, Daejeon 25 cases, Gangwon and Chungbuk each 23 cases, Ulsan 18 cases, Jeju 9 cases, and Jeonnam 1 case.
Cases were reported in 15 cities and provinces nationwide, excluding Sejong and Jeonbuk.
