[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 5th that it has designated the period from the 6th to the 12th as Earthquake Safety Week, focusing on raising awareness about earthquakes and minimizing damage by promoting earthquake response guidelines.
During Earthquake Safety Week, the Ministry will intensively promote four key earthquake response guidelines so that people can familiarize themselves with them in advance. These guidelines will be advertised through TV, radio, bus banners, electronic billboards, convenience store checkout monitors, posters, and leaflets. Additionally, in collaboration with a popular webtoon artist, stories about everyday earthquake response guidelines will be created as comics and serialized on Instagram.
Furthermore, an online earthquake safety campaign will be held in cooperation with the Korea Meteorological Administration. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety will conduct a public participation event from the 6th to the 30th on the Earthquake Safety website, making earthquake-related knowledge easy to understand and accessible at a glance. The Korea Meteorological Administration has organized programs such as the Earthquake Safety CM Song Challenge and Earthquake Science Quiz Event through the online Earthquake Science Museum, enabling the public to understand earthquake information and easily learn earthquake response guidelines.
