[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) is putting great effort into designating energy-specialized companies that lead the revitalization of the energy convergence complex.
The city announced on the 3rd that it will hold a total of three 'Energy-Specialized Company Designation Application Briefings' over two days on the 6th and 7th at Naju Innovation Industrial Complex, Innovation City, and Jangseong Nano Industrial Complex.
Energy-specialized companies are designated by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy based on the "Special Act on the Designation and Promotion of Energy Industry Convergence Complexes," evaluating resident companies in the energy industry convergence complex on technology level, management capability, and linkage with key industries.
Upon designation, benefits such as local tax reductions, a 2% increase in local investment promotion subsidies, and up to 2 additional points when participating as the lead institution in Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy research and development projects are provided.
The briefings will be held on the 6th at 11 a.m. at the Energy Valley Industry-Academia Convergence Center (4th floor) in the Innovation Industrial Complex, on the 7th at 10:30 a.m. at the Energy Valley Enterprise Development Center (3rd floor) in Naju Innovation City, and at 3 p.m. at the Laser System Industry Support Center (2nd floor) in Jangseong Nano Industrial Complex.
Previously, the city achieved the result of designating 28 companies, the highest number nationwide, among 62 companies designated as the first energy-specialized companies in April.
Application qualifications require meeting all four conditions: ▲having at least one business site within the energy industry convergence complex ▲having at least 50% of total corporate sales revenue from products or services related to the energy industry as per the notification ▲not belonging to power generation operators under Article 2, Clause 4 of the Electricity Business Act ▲not belonging to mutually invested restricted business groups under Article 14, Paragraph 1 of the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act.
