[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 3rd that it has formed and is operating a dedicated TF team and opened dedicated reception, consultation, and objection application desks to quickly provide the “COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund,” which is supported nationwide, without inconvenience to citizens, in order to revitalize the local economy stagnated due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
This coexistence national support fund provides 250,000 KRW per citizen, and the recipients include about 244,400 citizens, which corresponds to the bottom 80% of household income based on health insurance premiums as of last June and up to 88% of dual-income and single-person households under special criteria.
Eligibility inquiries can be made from the 30th of last month through the National Secretary notification service request or from the 6th via card company websites, apps, call centers, National Health Insurance Corporation website, bank branches linked to cards, and eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare centers.
Applications for the national support fund are accepted from the 6th of this month until the 29th of next month; online applications start on the 6th, and offline applications start on the 13th.
During the first week of online and offline applications, a 5-day rotation system by day of the week will be applied to prevent congestion.
On Mondays, only those whose birth year ends in 1 or 6 can apply; Tuesdays for 2 or 7; Wednesdays for 3 or 8; Thursdays for 4 or 9; Fridays for 5 or 0; and anyone can apply on weekends.
The payment methods include card (credit, debit) point charging or receiving the support fund as Suncheon Sarang Gift Certificates, a local currency.
Card (credit, debit) point charging can be applied for online from the 6th by adults individually through card company websites, apps, or call centers, and from the 13th, charging is also possible by visiting bank branches linked to the cards.
Suncheon Sarang Gift Certificate payments can be received immediately by visiting the eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare center on the day corresponding to the last digit of the recipient’s birth year starting from the 13th.
Applications are principally individual by adults, but in unavoidable cases, household members, spouses, direct ascendants or descendants, or legal representatives can apply on behalf of the recipient by bringing a power of attorney, ID, and documents proving the relationship between the recipient and the proxy.
Additionally, a “visiting application system” is operated for elderly or disabled people who have difficulty moving and live alone.
The visiting application system, starting from the 13th, allows the responsible staff to visit the household directly to receive the application form and process it after the support recipient requests it at the eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare center, and then pay the support fund as Suncheon Sarang Gift Certificates.
The received national support fund is encouraged to be used by December 31 to revitalize the local economy, and card points and mobile gift certificates will automatically expire if not used within the period.
Furthermore, this national support fund can only be used at “Suncheon Sarang Gift Certificate affiliated stores” for both credit/debit cards and gift certificates.
