'Chuseok Train' Ticket Reservation Rate 48.8%... Slight Increase Compared to Last Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] Korail's Chuseok train ticket reservation rate recorded 48.8%, showing a slight increase from last year's Chuseok rate of 45.2%.
According to Korail on the 2nd, among the 992,000 window seats available for sale during the three-day non-face-to-face Chuseok ticket reservation period starting from the 31st of last month, 48.8%, or 484,000 seats, were sold.
By major routes, the reservation rates were 48.7% for the Gyeongbu Line, 52.2% for the Gyeongjeon Line, 55.8% for the Honam Line, 62.6% for the Jeolla Line, 43.2% for the Gangneung Line, and 54.2% for the Jungang Line.
The day with the highest number of outbound travelers is the 18th. On this day, the reservation rate for the downbound line is 82.1% (Gyeongbu Line 84.0%, Honam Line 92.5%). The highest reservation rate for the return trip on the upbound line was on the 22nd, at 86.1% (Gyeongbu Line 88.0%, Honam Line 97.3%).
Reserved tickets must be paid for by midnight on the 5th. Tickets not paid for within the period will be automatically canceled and allocated to those on the waiting list. Customers who reserved tickets by phone on the 31st of last month (senior citizens and persons with disabilities) must bring their ID (resident registration card, disability registration card) and complete on-site payment at the station window by the 5th to receive the physical ticket.
