View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] Jeong Cheol-seung, the legal representative of the late former Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon, sharply criticized Yonsei University Honorary Professor Kim Hyung-seok (101), saying, "This is why the old saying that living long is dangerous came about."
On the 1st, Jeong posted an interview article of Professor Kim, who criticized the Moon Jae-in administration, on his social media (SNS), stating, "Professor Kim has never criticized the anti-democratic and anti-human rights actions of the regime since the Syngman Rhee administration," and added, "Only recently, after surpassing 100 years of age, has he started making critical remarks about the Moon Jae-in government."
He continued, "Why is it that after 100 years of sound mind, he begins to do things he never did before, only after becoming mentally clouded? If this is an aging phenomenon, it is a pitiful matter."
Jeong said about Professor Kim, "He seems to take great pride in being healthy even after surpassing 100 years of age," and added, "He is known as a devout Christian and even published a book titled 'Jesus.' As someone who respects the life of Jesus, I bought and read the book but was disappointed as it contained little substance."
He further criticized, "How can someone who claims to respect the young Jesus, who was crucified at 34 after criticizing the privileged class for the poor and powerless and advocating equality and philanthropy, boast about living to 100 years old, leading a peaceful life solely pursuing anserimibyeong (accepting fate without worry)?"
He added, "Recently, he even gave an interview to a Japanese right-wing media outlet, pouring out not just criticism but condemnation of the Moon Jae-in administration's diplomacy toward Japan. Shouldn't someone stop this elderly gentleman now? I hope his children or grandchildren pay some attention."
Earlier, on the 31st, Professor Kim gave an interview to Japan's Sankei Shimbun, criticizing the Moon Jae-in administration's pressure on the media, claiming that like the communist regimes of North Korea and China, "people can no longer speak the truth even among family members, causing truth, justice, and humanity to disappear."
Regarding Japan policy, he said, "President Moon is obsessed with wanting to be respected as a patriot, as if he were engaged in an anti-Japanese independence movement."
