Studio Mir's The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, Ranked 2nd Globally on Netflix Overall
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Studio Mir, a domestic animation production company aiming for an IPO in 2022, is continuing its global success with the Netflix animation "The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf," produced using its own technology, immediately after its release.
According to FlixPatrol, which aggregates global rankings of various content, Studio Mir announced that the Netflix animation "The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf" has risen to 2nd place in the overall global viewing rankings.
Following the Netflix animation "Dota: Dragon's Blood," which entered the global Top 10 content upon release in the first half of this year, this is another consecutive success in the global market. Both works were entirely produced with original technology from story planning to production management, demonstrating the technological prowess and commercial viability of K-content in the global market.
At the beginning of last year, Studio Mir joined the Netflix animation production project planned to expand the "Witcher" universe and took charge of production management for "The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf."
Studio Mir is the only company in Korea that has successfully entered the North American market by internalizing all processes of animation production, including planning, storytelling, concept art, directing, and casting and directing Hollywood actors, using its own technology. In October last year, it also signed a content partnership in the animation field through a production line contract with Netflix, the first Korean company to do so.
Director Lee Seungwook of Studio Mir said, "The animation 'The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf,' planned as a story extending from Netflix's most popular series 'The Witcher,' is a case that showcased Studio Mir's unique storytelling ability and planning skills to the global market. Since it was an animation project for a work that has attracted worldwide attention, we focused on immersive storytelling and paid meticulous attention to every scene, resulting in a great work that has received positive evaluations."
