On the 31st, heavy rain is falling mainly in the central region. The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) announced, "As of 4 PM, a heavy rain advisory has been issued for all of Seoul, Gwangmyeong, Hanam, Guri, Goyang, Gimpo, Bucheon, and some parts of Gyeonggi Province." A heavy rain advisory is issued when the rainfall is expected to exceed 60mm in 3 hours or 110mm in 12 hours.
The KMA also stated, "In the Seoul metropolitan area and Chungcheong region, very heavy rain accompanied by gusts and thunder and lightning, with hourly rainfall of 50 to 70mm, is expected until tomorrow morning (September 1st).
