According to the county on the 30th, a total of 22 COVID-19 confirmed cases have occurred from the 26th to 1 p.m. on the 29th, of which 20 are identified as a cluster infection linked to entertainment establishments in Songji-myeon.
Accordingly, since the 27th, the county has proactively set up a mobile screening clinic in Songji-myeon and is conducting PCR tests for all residents.
In Songji-myeon, an administrative order has been issued until the 31st to restrict movement of all residents, conduct PCR diagnostic tests, and recommend refraining from operating entertainment facilities, karaoke bars, and tearoom-style cafes.
Additionally, during the weekend, all departments are on emergency duty to re-inspect quarantine sites, and as the number of self-quarantined individuals rapidly increases, all staff have been mobilized to manage them on a one-to-one basis, dedicating all administrative power to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the region.
County Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan appealed to the residents, stating, “Rapid contact tracing and isolation are the most important measures to prevent community spread, and voluntary testing cooperation from residents who have come into contact with confirmed cases is urgently needed. Residents whose movement paths overlap are urged to get tested regardless of symptoms, and we will make every effort to prevent community spread.”
In this regard, Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok visited Haenam on the 29th to inspect quarantine measures. The on-site inspection included Haenam County Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan, National Assembly member Yoon Jae-gap, and provincial council members Kim Seong-il and Jo Gwang-young, who received reports on the local COVID-19 response and exchanged opinions on measures to prevent further spread.
Governor Kim Young-rok said, “I extend my encouragement to the staff working tirelessly at quarantine sites without holidays due to the sudden spread of COVID-19. Since proactive, extensive, and rapid quarantine responses have achieved considerable effects in preventing spread, we will continue to maintain thorough quarantine readiness, re-inspect the local quarantine situation, and unite our efforts to ensure this COVID-19 outbreak ends quickly.”
