Yoo Jin-seop, Jeongeup Mayor, Orders Thorough Measures for Chuseok Livelihood Stability and More

[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Yoo Jin-seop, mayor of Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk, instructed to make every effort to establish measures to minimize citizen inconvenience during the Chuseok holiday period and ensure there are no gaps in COVID-19 quarantine.

At the executive meeting held on the 30th, Mayor Yoo said, “Along with the smooth payment of COVID-19 related support funds before Chuseok, such as the ‘COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund,’ please prepare sector-specific measures to prevent citizens from experiencing inconvenience in daily life, including transportation and medical care, and also focus on cleanliness management of restrooms, such as weeding along major roads.”

He added, “Through campaigns to promote the use of local agricultural and specialty products, please revitalize the depressed local economy, and especially actively respond so that citizens in welfare blind spots can spend Chuseok without being left out.”

On the same day, Mayor Yoo also carefully checked the progress and plans of current tasks with the relevant departments.

The city requested ▲establishment of a population policy research service tailored to local circumstances ▲guidance and thorough preliminary investigation regarding the abolition of the support obligation criteria for basic livelihood security living expenses, which will be abolished starting October.

He repeatedly emphasized the need to make every effort, including developing reasonable arguments to be selected for various public contest projects hosted by central government ministries, Jeonbuk Province, and related organizations.

Mayor Yoo said, “As the amount of movement is expected to increase before and after the holiday, please do your utmost to ensure that quarantine measures are thoroughly implemented and also do your best to raise the COVID-19 vaccination rate before Chuseok.”
