Imsil-gun, 2nd Supplementary Budget of 518.9 Billion Won Formulated
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk (Governor Shim Min) announced on the 30th that 518.9 billion KRW was confirmed in the 2nd supplementary budget this year, surpassing 500 billion KRW for two consecutive years.
On the same day, the 2nd supplementary budget proposal of 518.9 billion KRW, increased by 32.7 billion KRW from the previous amount, was confirmed through the resolution of the county council at the plenary session of the extraordinary meeting.
This supplementary budget was achieved through mutual understanding and active cooperation with the Imsil County Council to restore the daily lives of residents who have been enduring difficult times due to the large-scale spread of COVID-19.
It was strategically organized around two main pillars: ‘Overcoming the COVID-19 crisis’ and ‘Imsil-gun’s future leap.’
To overcome the COVID-19 crisis, the budget includes 6.5 billion KRW for emergency disaster relief funds, 340 million KRW for additional national support funds for low-income groups, 100 million KRW for mask support projects for all residents, regional vitality plus job projects, temporary livelihood support and relief supplies for self-quarantined individuals, tourism site disinfection projects, and COVID-19 vaccination support projects, enabling prompt support.
For revitalizing the local economy and Imsil-gun’s future leap, 5.4 billion KRW was allocated for the 1st and 2nd phases of the Seomjingang Eco Museum creation project, 500 million KRW for tourism infrastructure development within Imsil Cheese Farm Land, and 250 million KRW for the Seongsusan King’s Forest Ecotourism site development project.
Additionally, 900 million KRW was allocated for the construction of the Osu-myeon Happiness Nuri Center, 500 million KRW for the Seongga district urban regeneration revitalization project, 1 billion KRW for the construction of the Imsil Cheese History and Culture Center, and 800 million KRW for the installation of the Ado Bridge on the Imsilcheon stream, giving momentum to large-scale investment projects.
Furthermore, 700 million KRW was allocated for discount support and production/operation of the Imsil Love Gift Certificates to revitalize local alleyway commercial districts.
Budgets for agricultural damage and facility restoration caused by the cold wave in January, abnormal low temperatures in April, and heavy rains in July were also included, accelerating the establishment of a safety net for residents.
Governor Shim Min expressed gratitude to the residents for wisely coping with difficulties and inconveniences despite the prolonged infectious disease situation, saying, “I hope this supplementary budget will be a small help and a spark of hope in overcoming difficult times and restoring daily life to pre-COVID-19 conditions.”
He added, “True recovery from COVID-19 lies in the restoration of each resident’s life, so we will focus all administrative power on quarantine efforts to ensure the safety of every last person.”
