COVID-19 New Cases Near 1,500... First Dose Vaccination Rate at 55.8% (Update)

The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced that as of midnight on the 30th, there were 1,487 new domestic COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 250,051. Of these, 1,426 were domestic transmissions and 61 were imported cases.
By region, Seoul reported 436 cases, Gyeonggi 402, and Incheon 63, totaling 901 cases (63.2%) in the metropolitan area.
Non-metropolitan areas reported 525 cases (36.8%), including Daegu 83, Gyeongnam 61, Chungnam 57, Busan 55, Gyeongbuk 39, Chungbuk 36, Ulsan 35, Gwangju, Daejeon, and Gangwon each 29, Jeonnam 27, Jeonbuk 25, Jeju 12, and Sejong 8.
Among the 61 imported cases, 29 were detected during quarantine, and the remaining 32 were identified in the local community. There were 17 Korean nationals and 44 foreigners. Forty-eight cases were confirmed from Asian countries excluding China.
The death toll increased by 5 from the previous day, totaling 2,284, with a fatality rate of 0.91%. The number of critically ill patients is 396.
The number of newly released from isolation increased by 1,632, bringing the total to 220,358.
The number of suspected cases tested was 33,757. At temporary screening clinics set up in the metropolitan area, 46,482 tests were conducted, confirming 309 cases. In non-metropolitan temporary screening clinics, 12,510 tests were conducted, identifying 64 cases. The total number of tests conducted was 92,749.
According to the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team, 16,120 people received their first dose on the previous day, bringing the total number of first-dose recipients to 28,641,079. The vaccination rate for the first dose relative to the population is 55.8%.
For the second dose, 15,842 people were newly vaccinated, with a total of 14,619,071 people having completed the vaccination. The vaccination completion rate relative to the population is 28.5%.
