During the first week of implementation, applicants will be spread out through a 'reservation day system,' similar to last year's mask purchase system. Those whose birth year ends in 1 or 6 can apply on Monday, those ending in 2 or 7 on Tuesday, and so on. However, after the first week, applications can be submitted regardless of the day of the week.
On the morning of the 30th, the government held a joint briefing at the Government Seoul Office with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and other related ministries to announce the 'Detailed Implementation Plan for the COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund,' which includes these details.
According to the implementation plan, applications for the National Support Fund can be made from the 6th of next month until October 29, for a period of two months. Eligible recipients can choose among credit/debit cards, prepaid cards, or local gift certificates, and the funds can be used until December 31 of this year. Eligibility can be checked at the time of application through card company websites, apps, call centers, ARS, or the National Health Insurance Service website and app.
The National Support Fund is available to households whose combined health insurance premiums for June of this year are below 310,000 won for workplace subscribers and 350,000 won for regional subscribers, based on a four-person household. In households with both workplace and regional subscribers, the combined premium must be 330,000 won or less to qualify.
However, special exceptions apply to single-person households and dual-income households, considering their household characteristics. The annual income threshold for single-person households has been raised to 58 million won. The original standard of 50 million won would have resulted in fewer than the 1 million households agreed upon by the National Assembly, so the threshold was increased. Both workplace and regional subscribers in single-person households with health insurance premiums of 170,000 won or less are eligible for the support fund.
