Andong-si National Road No. 34 Expansion Project Passes 'Preliminary Feasibility Study' ... Expanded from 4 Lanes to 6 Lanes
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Andong City announced on the 30th that the 'Pungsan-eup~Seohu-myeon Section Route 34 Expansion Project' was confirmed for implementation after passing the preliminary feasibility study of the 5th National and Local Road 5-Year Plan through the Ministry of Strategy and Finance's Fiscal Project Evaluation Committee review on the 25th.
Accordingly, the 11.5 km section from the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office to downtown Andong will be expanded from 4 lanes to 6 lanes as a main arterial road with a national budget investment of 177.6 billion KRW.
The preliminary feasibility study for the 5th National and Local Road Construction Plan (draft) is a procedure to select projects to be included in the nationwide national and local road construction plan established every five years by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Upon completion of this project, traffic flow during commuting hours from the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office to the Bio-Industrial Complex and Andong Old Downtown is expected to improve, and logistics costs between regions are also anticipated to be reduced.

Mayor Kwon Young-se of Andong stated, "Projects confirmed and announced in the National Road 5-Year Plan preliminary feasibility study are fully funded by the national government, and since design and construction commencement will occur within five years, we will make further efforts to ensure that follow-up procedures proceed promptly."
