Jeonnam Basic Council Member Caught Drunk Driving... Fell Asleep While Waiting at a Traffic Signal
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] A basic council member in Jeonnam was caught by the police after falling asleep inside a car while waiting at a green light during drunk driving.
On the 28th, Jangheung Police Station announced that Council Member A of Jangheung County was booked on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act.
Council Member A is suspected of drunk driving around 4:40 PM the previous day in the downtown area of Jangheung-eup, Jangheung County. The blood alcohol concentration measured by the police was reportedly at the level warranting license cancellation.
Council Member A fell asleep in the driver's seat while waiting at a traffic light near the intersection of National Route 2, Sunjinadeulmok, after drinking and driving. The police responded to a report suspecting drunk driving and caught Council Member A at the scene.
