From September, automatic enrollment for all Dongjak-gu residents with up to 10 million KRW coverage per person... Insurance applies to six categories including Silver Zone accident treatment, assault and violent crime injuries, focusing on daily life protection
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) operates the ‘Resident Safety Insurance’ to protect residents from various disasters and accidents that may occur in daily life.
The ‘Resident Safety Insurance’ was introduced in September 2019. It is a system where the district pays the insurance premium so that residents registered in Dongjak-gu can receive compensation from the insurance company when they suffer damage from disasters or accidents. Enrollment is automatic without any separate procedures and is automatically canceled upon moving out.
From July 29 to August 4, the district conducted a survey on the Resident Safety Insurance to identify the coverage items and improvements that residents considered most necessary.
Based on the survey results, coverage items overlapping with the safety insurance implemented by Seoul City were excluded, and new items related to damages that can occur in daily life were newly organized.
The new coverage items include ▲Silver Zone accident treatment expenses ▲violent crime injury ▲death from toxic substances ▲dog bite accident diagnosis expenses ▲heat-related illness diagnosis expenses, covering a total of six items including legal support for medical accidents.
The coverage amount ranges from a minimum of 100,000 KRW to a maximum of 10,000,000 KRW per item, and overlapping coverage is possible regardless of compensation from other existing insurance policies.
The insurance period is from September 1 this year to August 31 next year, and insurance benefits can be received for accidents occurring anywhere nationwide. Residents who suffer eligible damages can claim with NH Insurance within three years from the date of the accident by submitting supporting documents.
