On the 28th (local time), the United States conducted an airstrike against the Islamic militant group Islamic State (IS) in Afghanistan.
According to major foreign media, the U.S. Department of Defense announced in a statement that it used drones (unmanned aerial vehicles) to attack the Islamic State Khorasan (IS-K), the Afghan branch of IS.
