Live Broadcast of Iraq Match on the 2nd and Lebanon Match on the 7th Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coupang announced on the 27th that Coupang Play will digitally live stream the first and second matches of the final qualifiers for the 2022 Qatar World Cup featuring the South Korean national football team led by coach Paulo Bento.
Coupang Play plans to digitally live stream the first home match of the World Cup final qualifiers between South Korea and Iraq, held at Seoul World Cup Stadium at 8 PM on the 2nd of next month. Following that, the second match against Lebanon at Suwon World Cup Stadium at 8 PM on the 7th will also be delivered via live stream.
The national football team, aiming for its 10th consecutive World Cup finals appearance, is placed in a group with five Middle Eastern teams. Among the six teams, they must finish in the top two of the group to qualify directly for the World Cup finals. Since all six teams compete in a home-and-away full league format, these first and second home matches are crucial. The final qualifiers will feature overseas players such as Son Heung-min in full attendance.
Coupang Play plans to live stream all matches until March next year, not only the first and second matches but throughout the World Cup final qualifiers. Earlier, Coupang Play established itself as a digital live streaming platform for national team matches by broadcasting the Korea-Japan match on March 25 this year, the second round of World Cup qualifiers, and friendly matches of the Olympic football team.
