Government to Announce 3rd Cloud Computing Implementation Plan Soon
Holding a Progress Review Meeting for the New Industry TF on the 27th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The government will soon prepare and announce an implementation plan for cloud computing. The plan will include response strategies for the metaverse sector and support measures for blockchain technology development.
On the 27th, Lee Eokwon, First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, held a meeting to review the progress of the New Industry Task Force (TF) at the Government Seoul Office, discussing cloud computing, blockchain, intelligent robots, digital healthcare, and the metaverse.
The New Industry TF is an inter-ministerial consultative body launched in April to respond to the rapidly changing social, economic structures, and technologies triggered by COVID-19.

Vice Minister Lee stated, "To actively respond to the acceleration of digital transformation and the major shift in economic structure triggered by COVID-19, it is more important than anything else to discover and nurture new growth engine industries that promote the growth potential and dynamism of our economy," adding, "We must focus our policy capabilities with a heavy sense of responsibility."
