[Breaking] Health and Medical Workers' Union to Launch General Strike on the 2nd of Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] The Korean Health and Medical Workers' Union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions will launch a full-scale strike on the 2nd of next month. On the morning of the 27th, Na Soon-ja, chairperson of the Health and Medical Workers' Union, held a press conference at the Life Hall of the Health and Medical Workers' Union in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, stating, "With a voter turnout of 81.8% and an approval rate of 89.8%, the Health and Medical Workers' Union's full strike has been approved," and added, "If the government does not present a clear solution to the demands for workforce expansion and public healthcare enhancement, we will proceed with a full strike starting at 7 a.m. on September 2 as scheduled."
