Prosecutors Raid Daewoong Pharmaceutical... Separate from Fair Trade Commission Complaint
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] The prosecution has launched a forced investigation into Daewoong Pharmaceutical.
According to the legal community on the 26th, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office conducted a search and seizure at the headquarters of Daewoong Pharmaceutical in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, this morning.
This search and seizure is known to be unrelated to the complaints filed by the Fair Trade Commission and the Korean Intellectual Property Office. Earlier, in March, the Fair Trade Commission imposed a fine of 2.297 billion KRW on Daewoong Pharmaceutical for filing a sham lawsuit to obstruct the lawful sale of generic drugs by competitors and reported the corporation to the prosecution.
