Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Gori Nuclear Headquarters Donates 430 Million KRW in Scholarships to 303 Local Students
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters has generously donated a large sum of money to many local students.
On the 26th, Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters announced that it had provided a total of 430 million KRW in scholarships to local students to foster future talent.
Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters selects scholarship recipients from the surrounding area every year and provides scholarships to reduce the financial burden of tuition for local residents and to offer academic advancement opportunities to outstanding local students.
This year, a total of 303 scholarship recipients were selected, including 272 university students and 31 high school students. Due to COVID-19, a separate award ceremony was not held. Scholarships and certificates were delivered individually to each student.
Kim Jun-seok, head of Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters, said, “We hope that outstanding local students will build their capabilities and grow into future leaders,” and added, “Gori Headquarters will continue its scholarship projects to nurture local talent while working together with the local community.”
Since 1990, Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters has sponsored scholarships totaling 14 billion KRW to more than 20,000 people.

Along with scholarship and local talent development projects, it operates education support programs worth about 1.9 billion KRW annually, including academic improvement programs and support for native English instructors.
