LH Holds Meeting with Korea Specialty Construction Association "Efforts to Foster a Fair Construction Culture"

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 26th that it held a "Win-Win Cooperation Meeting for the Creation of a Fair Construction Culture" at the Specialized Construction Hall in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, attended by LH President Kim Hyun-joon and Kim Young-yoon, President of the Korea Specialty Contractors Association.
The meeting was organized to listen to the current issues and difficulties of the specialty construction industry in order to create a fair construction environment and promote win-win cooperation with construction companies, and to discuss institutional improvement measures to resolve these issues.
At the meeting, the two organizations discussed and exchanged opinions on △ measures to enhance fairness in construction subcontracting △ expansion of joint contracting by main contractors △ expansion of separate ordering for specialty construction work △ cooperation measures following the restructuring of the construction industry production system.
The Korea Specialty Contractors Association expressed gratitude for LH's efforts toward win-win cooperation, including △ efforts to eradicate unfair special contracts in subcontracting transactions and △ improvement of unreasonable practices at construction sites.
President Kim Young-yoon said, "During this period of change with the restructuring of the construction industry production system, we hope for policy consideration and interest in expanding orders for specialty construction businesses."
In response, President Kim said, "LH and specialty construction companies are partners who must rely on and cooperate with each other," emphasizing the creation of a fair and transparent construction culture along with strengthening on-site safety management.
He also stated, "In these difficult times such as the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, it is a time when everyone must unite to create jobs and revive the domestic economy," adding, "LH will actively strive to revitalize the construction industry by issuing orders for construction projects worth 15 trillion won this year."

President Kim emphasized, "To strengthen communication channels for regaining public trust, we will regularize win-win councils and meetings with the construction industry, listen to the difficulties of subcontractors and material suppliers, and reflect their opinions in overall management and business, so that the public can feel LH's changes and regain trust."
