According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, from midnight to 6 p.m. on that day, a total of 1,519 new confirmed cases tested positive for COVID-19. This is 131 fewer than the same time the previous day (1,650 cases).
The metropolitan area accounted for 984 cases (64.8%), and non-metropolitan areas accounted for 535 cases (35.2%).
By city and province, the numbers are: Gyeonggi 454, Seoul 435, Incheon 95, Chungnam 79, Daegu 75, Busan 71, Gyeongnam 66, Gyeongbuk 64, Daejeon 41, Chungbuk 32, Jeju 29, Gwangju 22, Gangwon 20, Jeonbuk 17, Ulsan 11, Jeonnam 5, and Sejong 3.
The daily number of confirmed cases has remained in the four digits for 50 consecutive days since the 7th of last month (1,211 cases), and the 26th will mark the 51st day.
Looking at the new confirmed cases over the past week, the daily numbers were 2,152 → 2,050 → 1,880 → 1,628 → 1,418 → 1,509 → 2,155.
