Gwangju Seo-gu Nongsung 2-dong and Nongsung Police Station Join Hands to Establish Safety and Care System

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Administrative Welfare Center of Nongsung 2-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, and the local community security council signed a business agreement on the 24th with the Nongsung Police Substation of the Western Police Station to establish a safety and care system for local residents under the 'Nongsung 2-dong Guardian Angels & Pol Guardians.'

According to Nongsung 2-dong, Seo-gu, on the 25th, this agreement aims to create a safe and happy neighborhood by proactively identifying vulnerable households, which have emerged as a social issue due to COVID-19, through an organic cooperation system among civilians, government, and police.

Through this agreement, it is expected that the social safety net can be further strengthened by having welfare officers accompany police officers to visit high-risk or suspected abuse households, or by police officers linking individuals in need of welfare services to the Administrative Welfare Center during their duties.

Seol Sang-wook, head of the Nongsung Police Substation, said, “The Nongsung Police Substation will do its best to approach local residents first and contribute to creating a safe village,” and added, “We will strive to provide more welfare benefits to residents through the cooperation of both organizations.”

Heo Soon-seok, head of Nongsung 2-dong, stated, “This agreement will serve as an opportunity to create a warm Nongsung 2-dong without welfare blind spots and full of neighborly affection.”
