Enhancement of Convenience Facilities Including Songpa Dullegil Tancheon Trail Public Wi-Fi Zones
Completion of Public Wi-Fi Installation, Additional Restrooms, Signboards, and Photo Zones
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) announced on the 25th that it is enhancing residents' convenience by installing public Wi-Fi along the recently opened Songpa Dullegil Tancheon Trail.
Last month on the 1st, the district created a 4.4km walking path from Gwangpyeonggyo Bridge to Samsunggyo Bridge along Tancheon. After about 50 years of being blocked by embankment roads, the beautiful natural scenery of Tancheon has returned to the residents, completing the 21km circular Songpa Dullegil trail connecting Seongnaecheon, Jangjicheon, Tancheon, and the Han River surrounding Songpa.
Along with the walking path, the district is reinforcing various convenience facilities throughout the Tancheon Trail to make Songpa Dullegil even more walkable.
First, public Wi-Fi was installed to add convenience. The district recently completed an on-site inspection and performance test of the Tancheon Trail’s private information and communication network. During the construction of the Tancheon section, communication lines and power lines were installed simultaneously, reducing costs. Through this private information and communication network, future installation of various disaster and safety CCTVs can save line construction costs and enable linkage with the control center.
The public Wi-Fi can be accessed by turning on the smartphone’s Wi-Fi function and selecting ‘SEOUL_Secure’. Both the connection ID and password are “seoul,” and once set up initially, it connects automatically. Visitors to the Tancheon Trail can use it free of charge regardless of their mobile carrier. This allows users to freely access QR codes on information boards installed throughout the trail without worrying about communication fees and check various information.
Additionally, the district plans to expand restrooms along the Tancheon Trail. Reflecting residents’ suggestions, including those from neighborhood Dullegil guardians, two additional restrooms will be installed by September. The locations will be near the Tancheon detention basin and Jamsil detention basin, considering visitor flow. Emergency bells capable of wireless communication with nearby police stations will also be installed in the restrooms to enhance residents’ safety.
Furthermore, the district plans to expand guidance and convenience facilities to assist Tancheon Trail users by reflecting various residents’ opinions, including installing no-entry signs for electric kickboards and bicycles, and photo zones within the ecological observatory.
