In the weekly women’s golf world rankings announced on the morning of the 24th (Korean time), she earned 3.95 points, leaping an impressive 38 spots from 54th place last week. She accumulated points by winning the final major of the 2021 LPGA Tour season, the AIG Women’s Open (total prize money $4.5 million), by one stroke (12-under 276) at the Old Course at St Andrews, Scotland (par 72, 6,850 yards), which concluded the day before. This marks her 9th career win, her first major victory since the 2017 Evian Championship in four years.

There were no changes in the top ranks with Nelly Korda (USA) remaining 1st (10.44 points), Ko Jin-young (26) 2nd (8.59 points), Park In-bee (33, KB Financial Group) 3rd (7.46 points), and Kim Sei-young (28, Mediheal) 4th (7.18 points). Lydia Ko (New Zealand, 5.74 points) and Kim Hyo-joo (26, Lotte, 5.72 points) each rose one spot to 5th and 6th respectively. ‘Domestic Number 1’ Park Min-ji (23, NH Investment & Securities) is 15th (4.02 points), and ‘High1 Resort Women’s Open Champion’ Lim Hee-jung (21, Korea Land & Housing Corporation) is 40th (2.62 points).
