Yeonggwang-gun Extends 'Social Distancing Level 3' Until the 5th of Next Month
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Junsung) held a briefing meeting on the 23rd to announce that the existing social distancing level 3 under the revised social distancing plan will be extended for two weeks until the 5th of next month, following the government's policy to extend the social distancing stage.
According to the county on the 23rd, this extension was decided to block the spread of community infections caused by the increase in travel during the vacation season, the rapid infection speed, and the highly transmissible Delta variant virus amid the fourth wave situation where about 2,000 daily COVID-19 confirmed cases continue to occur domestically.
Considering the rising public fatigue due to prolonged social distancing and the increasing damage to self-employed and small business owners, it is difficult to significantly strengthen quarantine measures. Therefore, some quarantine rules have been adjusted to maintain the existing distancing level while focusing on strengthening quarantine management in vulnerable areas.
According to the administrative order to extend social distancing level 3, private gatherings are still allowed up to 4 people, and vaccine inoculation incentives are fully suspended.
Exceptions to the private gathering limit include ▲cohabiting family members, caregivers for children, elderly, and disabled persons, and end-of-life care ▲minimum personnel required for sports game composition ▲up to 8 people for formal meetings (sang-gyeon-rae), and up to 16 people for first birthday parties (dol-janchi) held outside specialized dol-janchi venues.
The main changes include ▲vaccinated persons are also included in the count of private gathering members ▲indoor dining at convenience stores is prohibited from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. ▲outdoor tables available for dining at restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores are prohibited from operation and use from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Also, ▲wedding halls at wedding venues are limited to 1 person per 4㎡ (up to 99 people) ▲2-meter distancing between users in common areas (indoor smoking rooms) ▲high-risk facility workers are required to undergo diagnostic testing once every two weeks.
Existing distancing quarantine rules include ▲mandatory indoor and outdoor mask-wearing including vaccinated persons ▲events, assemblies, funeral halls, and specialized dol-janchi venues are limited to 49 people ▲operation and use of five types of entertainment facilities, colatecs, dance halls, hold'em pubs, coin karaoke rooms, bathhouses, and direct sales promotion centers for door-to-door sales are restricted from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
▲restaurants and cafes are only allowed takeout and delivery from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. ▲religious facilities are limited to 20% of total capacity (four seats apart) and prohibit meetings, events, meals, and overnight stays ▲operation of shower rooms in indoor and outdoor sports facilities is prohibited.
Governor Kim Junsung said, “To overcome the fourth wave of COVID-19 and prevent community infections, we ask residents to refrain from travel and gatherings, wear masks, check body temperature and register entry when using multi-use facilities, get tested if symptoms appear, and actively participate in vaccination.”
