The LPGA Tour announced on the 23rd (Korean time), immediately after the final day of the last major of the 2021 season, the AIG Women's Open (total prize money $4.5 million) held at the Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland (par 72, 6,850 yards), "Tavatanakit ranked first in the combined results of the five major tournaments." Established in 2014, the Annika Major Award is given to the player who earns the most points by converting the results of the five major winners into points.

Tavatanakit won her first major, the ANA Inspiration, last April. She tied for 5th place at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship in June and tied for 7th at the AIG Women's Open. Adding 6 points on this day, she accumulated 80 points, surpassing No. 1 Nelly Korda (USA, 78 points) by 2 points. Tavatanakit is also leading the LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year category this year with 970 points. The gap with second place Leona Maguire (Ireland, 758 points) is large, making her award highly likely.
