Gangbuk-gu to Provide Additional 100,000 KRW National Support Fund per Person to Low-Income Households
Cash Support of 100,000 KRW per Person for Basic Livelihood Security Recipients and Lower-Income Groups... Separate from the 5th Disaster Relief Fund, Distributed by September 15
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeom-su) will provide the ‘Additional National Support Fund for Low-Income Groups’ to ease the financial burden on low-income households struggling due to COVID-19.
The ‘Additional National Support Fund for Low-Income Groups’ is separate from the 5th disaster relief fund (COVID-19 Coexistence National Support Fund), which targets 88% of the entire population, and will provide 100,000 KRW per person according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s plan.
The beneficiaries include basic livelihood security recipients, legally defined near-poor groups, and single-parent families receiving child-rearing support, with approximately 27,423 people expected to benefit as of August.
Basic livelihood security recipients of living and housing benefits, near-poor disabled persons, near-poor disability pension recipients, near-poor disability (child) allowance recipients, and legally defined single-parent families receiving child-rearing support will receive the fund collectively into the welfare benefit account of one representative household member without a separate application. However, basic livelihood security recipients of medical and education benefits, near-poor self-pay reduction recipients, near-poor self-support recipients, and households confirmed as near-poor will receive the fund after a separate account verification process for the beneficiaries.
The support fund is scheduled to be paid out collectively on the 24th, and those with account errors or newly designated legal low-income groups in August will receive additional payments by September 15.
