Over 100 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed Related to Tokyo Paralympics
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] The number of COVID-19 confirmed cases related to the '2020 Tokyo Paralympics,' which opens on the 24th, has exceeded 100.
According to local Japanese media on the 21st, the organizing committee announced that 15 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in connection with the Tokyo Paralympics. This includes one athlete who entered from overseas but did not move into the athletes' village, as well as event officials and subcontractor employees who tested positive.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases related to the event announced by the organizing committee from the 12th to this day is 101.
The committee identified nine close contacts of one athlete who tested positive the previous day, and all of them have been quarantined and will undergo daily testing.
