GM, Additional Recall of Electric Vehicle Bolt Worth '1 Trillion Won'

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] American automaker General Motors (GM) announced on the 20th (local time) that it will conduct an additional recall of 73,000 Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicles (EVs), spending 1 billion dollars (approximately 1.1835 trillion KRW).
According to major foreign media, GM plans to secure a compensation commitment for the recall costs from battery supplier LG.
The additional recall targets are 2019?2022 models sold in the United States and Canada. At the end of last month, GM had decided to recall 69,000 Bolt EVs produced worldwide from 2017 to 2019 (including 51,000 units in the U.S.).

The recall decision was prompted by two vehicle fires involving Bolt EVs equipped with batteries from LG Energy Solution.
