DL Group Introduces Eco-Friendly Corporate Vehicles... "Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions"
[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] DL Group (formerly Daelim Group) is introducing eco-friendly vehicles to reduce carbon emissions and greenhouse gases. On the 20th, the company announced that it will replace its corporate vehicles used for business purposes at its headquarters and nationwide sites from conventional internal combustion engines to hybrid and electric vehicles.
DL Group began operating corporate vehicles with hybrids and electric cars starting this year. By 2024, it plans to replace all 500 internal combustion engine vehicles currently in operation with eco-friendly vehicles. Initially, hybrid vehicles will be introduced, and in the long term, all corporate vehicles will be replaced with electric vehicles in line with the pace of securing charging infrastructure.
Hybrid vehicles can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 31.2% compared to conventional internal combustion engine vehicles. DL Group expects that once the introduction of hybrid vehicles is complete, it will be able to reduce annual carbon emissions by 424 tons. This amount is comparable to the carbon absorbed by 53,300 pine trees.
Along with the transition to a holding company and company split this year, DL Group is accelerating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management. The group is exploring specialized eco-friendly new businesses for each affiliate in construction, petrochemicals, and energy sectors. In particular, it is showing prominence in carbon capture, eco-friendly material development, and renewable energy generation fields.
