Prosecutors Seek 2-Year Prison Sentence for Former Pro Baseball Player Yoon Sung-hwan on Match-Fixing Charges

On the 19th, Judge Lee Seongwook of the Daegu District Court Criminal Division 11 held the sentencing hearing for Yoon Seonghwan, who was indicted for violating the National Sports Promotion Act. On this day, the prosecution requested the court to sentence Yoon Seonghwan to two years in prison and to confiscate 203.5 million won.
Earlier, Yoon Seonghwan was brought to trial on charges of receiving 500 million won in September last year along with a request to fix matches by allowing the opposing team to earn a walk in the first inning during weekend games and to concede a certain number of runs before the fourth inning. He is also accused of using the money for illegal gambling.
