Sales in major commercial districts in Seoul, such as Itaewon and Hongdae, have decreased by more than half compared to two years ago. According to an analysis of dining industry sales in major commercial districts through Seoul City's Our Neighborhood Store Commercial Area Analysis Service, sales in the first quarter of this year dropped by 51% compared to the first quarter of 2019. In particular, Itaewon's first-quarter sales plummeted by 82% compared to 2019. This appears to be influenced by a decrease in tourists and restrictions on business hours.
