Four Haenam Signature Chicken Dish Restaurants Receive 1:1 Customized Consulting and Support

[Haenam＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jeonnam Haenam-gun (Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan) has designated four restaurants representing the flavors of Haenam.

On the 19th, according to the county, the designated representative restaurants are ‘Dolgogae Garden’ for chicken course dishes, ‘Dohwaji’ for Korean set meals, ‘Manjae Garden’ for raw meat, and ‘Financier’ for sweet potato bread.

Earlier, in April, the county formed the Haenam-gun Representative Food Committee and selected ‘Haenam 8 Delicacies (chicken course dishes, barley ssambap, Korean set meals, mountain vegetable set meals, Spanish mackerel sashimi, raw meat, rice cake ribs, and Hwangchil duck baeksuk)’ and ‘Haenam Sweet Potato Bread’ as representative foods of Haenam.

Haenam-gun has been promoting the selection of representative foods and designation of representative restaurants to discover and foster representative dishes using local specialties and to revitalize food tourism and the local economy through tourism commercialization.

Accordingly, following the selection of Haenam-gun’s representative foods, four establishments were finally designated through document screening and on-site inspections by judges including food-related experts for the designation of representative restaurants.

Designated representative restaurants will receive one-on-one customized consulting, issuance of designation certificates, and active support to widely promote the excellence of Haenam’s representative foods through various media such as SNS and websites.

A county official said, “We will actively work on the management and promotion of the designated establishments so that they feel pride and responsibility as restaurants representing Haenam,” and added, “We will strive to establish Haenam as the sacred place of Namdo flavors through food development using excellent local specialties and tourism commercialization.”
