Vespa unveils first video of 'Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Vespa announced on the 18th that it has released a promotion video (PV) for the new title "Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness (tentative title)," which is being jointly developed with its Japanese local subsidiary HIVE.
The PV video, which begins with nostalgic 2D dot animation, inherits the worldview of the original "Shining Force," where "heroes who embark on an adventure become the guardians of light, Shining Force, confront the dark legion, and ultimately achieve victory." The story is set about 1,000 years after the original.
The video features various heroes from the "Shining Force" series, including Bowie, Sarah, and Max, along with mysterious babies wrapped in blue and red cloths, hinting at an extensive story that spans the entire series.
Additionally, the video includes actual gameplay footage of "Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness (tentative title)," developed with a modern sensibility. Viewers can preview adorable characters composed in SD (Super Deformation) style, dynamic animations appearing during battles, and scenes showcasing the diverse strategic tactics unique to the SRPG (simulation role-playing game) genre.
A Vespa representative stated, "'Shining Force: Heroes of Light and Darkness (tentative title)' is a title that combines the globally proven masterpiece SRPG 'Shining Force' IP with Vespa's outstanding development capabilities, so expectations for success are high." They added, "We aim to continue the legacy of this masterpiece SRPG with a game of a higher quality that will satisfy not only users new to 'Shining Force' but also those who have nostalgic memories of the original."
